Dani Alaka is a paralegal/caseworker at L J Collins Solicitors. Dani graduated with a BA in Sociology from the University of Warwick in 2019. In 2020, she completed the graduate diploma in law at the University of Law. In 2022, Dani completed the barristers practice course at the University of Law. She was called to the Bar in November 2023. Additionally, She completed a LLM master’s in law achieving a distinction in 2023.

Prior to her legal studies, Dani qualified as a professional gymnastics coach in 2016 and enjoyed a part-time career as a sports coach and teachers assistant in over fifteen different schools in the UK. Her time as a teacher attuned her to the experiences of families and children which encouraged her to practice family law.

Dani’s other experience include one year working in the engine room of a barrister’s chambers as a marketing executive, two months independently managing a caseload as a school exclusion caseworker for a charity, one month in a law firm as an intern for matrimonial family law cases and various mini-pupillage experiences shadowing barristers.

Another notable achievement is winning Inner Temple’s Public Speaking competition in 2023.

Dani started working at L J Collins Solicitors in Spring 2025 and has been working under Lorita Collins who has vast experience in family law including oral advocacy in the family law courts, expert knowledge of legal process and dedication to great client care.

Her responsibilities are broad due to being a bar graduate. Dani takes instructions from clients, produces witness and position statements, reviews evidence and assessments, liaises with professionals and the local authority throughout the length of proceedings, clerks hearings and provides support to clients. She also conducts oral advocacy on behalf of Lorita Collins for clients.

Dani’s practice areas are care proceedings, discharge of care orders and non- molestation orders. Her aim is to develop an effective yet efficient family law practice with consistent oral advocacy, where she supports clients from initial instruction to final hearings.

Dani’s passions are fashion and music. She often attends London Fashion Week events and has a growing vinyl collection.
